The Pull-On Flared Jean

As a person who has struggled to find pants that fit me most of my life, I appreciate a good fit and any help to make me look slimmer.

There was a brief phase when the pants at Banana Republic fit perfectly. That phase ended after pregnancy. All good things do come to an end, although it wasn’t all bad. It appeared that becoming a larger size offered new choices to wear other brands. Add to that the experience of wearing maternity pants, I wonder why we put up with buttons and zippers.

These days I feel like two different sizes in one day.  I was pleasantly surprised to find Pull-on Flare Jeans from multiple brands.

I really wanted to like these jeans as they were a pull-on. I didn’t know Jessica Simpson had jeans in her fashion line and they were priced very reasonably from the HSN.  This was my first experience ordering from the HSN.

Interestingly, they were the last pair of flare jeans to arrive, so I had the other three for comparison.

They felt pleasant to touch, not too thick or stiff. Definitely soft to the touch as labeled. The waist looks comfortable, and the color is nice. 

I pulled them on, and all seemed fine but when I looked in the mirror, it was an immediate “NO!” for me. They were just too revealing. I think a person with a flat stomach and thin legs to match will look great in these and appreciate the soft fabric. It’s possible I should have ordered a size up, but they were the typical size 8 with a 29” waist.

I found the flare jeans from Walmart’s Sophia Vergara line a real surprise at only $15. The fabric on these jeans was lightweight, simply perfect for summer. They did not reveal too much and were true to a size 8 waist 29.

I can’t help but wonder “Where have these jeans been my whole life?”.

Tight but not squishing the guts out of me. They did a good job of defining the rear and legs. They made my stomach appear smaller than it is.  They didn’t reveal more than this reshaped stomach.

The fit was comfortable.  In fact the most comfortable jeans I have ever worn.

The only issue I have is that they are about 3 inches too long, even with a modest heel they will be too long. When I reviewed the website, they say that if you are 5’9” you should order regular length, and if you are 5’3” you should order a petite flared jean. I do not mind being petite. I like the idea of ordering petite flared jeans.

These Flare Jeans from Target are extremely cute. So cute that I still like them even though they did not fit me well. They did not have a pull-on version, so, with the traditional waist, they were a little squishing at the waist.

I don’t have a lot of hips so that area seemed to have too much fabric and made them look ill-fitted to my body.

The fabric is sturdy and not too stiff. The color is a nice mid-range denim color.

These Wranglers were a big surprise. I first spotted them during a search on Amazon and finally at Kohls, of course on SALE!

I have never owned a pair of Wranglers that I can recall. I remember the brand from back in the ’70s (maybe I had a pair back then as a kid).

I really like these Stretch Flared Jeans for multiple reasons. The dark wash color makes them look like dressed-up jeans. The length is perfect to wear with a small heel.

The fabric feels sturdy with a nice bit of stretch. This makes the button zipper waist give you support at the waist without squishing your guts out.

Interestingly to me, I even added a belt and half-tucked my shirt and these still looked great!

If all the Wrangler jeans feel like these, I might have to get a few more pairs!
